Ms. Bowker has a 30+year career in corporate communications, brand management and public affairs. She has helped public and private sector organizations as well as high profile individuals achieve enhanced reputation through media relations, issues/crisis management, sponsorships and corporate social responsibility, and political campaign consulting. Her experience includes work in the consumer goods, healthcare, technology and financial services industries, as well as in government.
Prior to forming her own consultancy, she was a managing director with Burson-Marsteller where she led their U S. corporate practice and provided client services in the areas of issues/crisis management, organizational communication, and CEO positioning during her 10-year tenure.
Ms. Bowker also served as a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers leading their marketing and communications efforts and their Center of Excellence for Strategic Communications. She was a communications advisor to numerous PwC clients involved in significant strategic, structural and/or technology change efforts. She has served as an Assistant Postmaster General and Vice President Communications and Public Affairs for the U. S. Postal Service where she directed the strategic communications for a wide range of challenges and opportunities—from workplace violence and the anthrax crisis to the creation and promotion of the Elvis postage stamp. Early in her career she worked as a journalist and registered lobbyist in Washington, DC.
Ms. Bowker attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she earned a Master of Science in Management. She has also earned a Master of Science in Technology Policy from George Washington University and a BA in Journalism from the University of Arkansas.
